The following list is ordered according to my opinion of several years of searching and collecting these pistols from MOST common to LEAST common: 1. Interarms import Helwan; no Arabic lettering- commonly available for between $225-$275. Some of the later years from this import had the weaker locking blocks, but vast majority of people report zero problems. Helwan with Arabic on the slide - Less common, price ranges from $275-$325 (preferred due to reputation for stronger locking block). Sub-variants will be the, more rare U.A.R, followed by the A.R.E. Cadet pistol - these pop up on gunbroker every few months, prices are usually $275-$375. Very little is known as to why they came out with the 'Cadet' line, which is largely identical to the others. Helwan Super - Basically it's an Interarms Helwan with an extended magazine, but 'Super' is printed on the slide. For some reason people always want $400+ for this, usually see one for sale per year. Danshway U.A.R: Pre-dates the Helwan, and named after a different province than the Helwan province. Very rare, took me 3 years to find one listed anywhere. If the seller knows what they have, price is usually $600-$750 6. Model 920: a Beretta 92 / M9 clone, will say 'Helwan' on the grips but not the same pistol as everything else on this list which is a Beretta 1951 clone. Very rare pistol, and $600+ value. Beretta 92 collectors tend to compete with the Middle Eastern collectors on bidding these up. Israel Capture: While many well used Helwans came via Israel, this category has proof of Israeli ownership. Arabic lettered Helwan, captured by Israel in 1973 Yom Kippur War. Will have Star of David stamped on the frame. Polished Interarms Helwan pistol, no Arabic lettering, I believe this is a crudely chrome plated, or nickel plated Interarms import.: I have seen evidence of these in the US, but have not found one for sale yet. A forum member here had one and broke the locking block, so if you have one of these, it may be one with a metallurgy problem for the locking block. Very rare, I have been looking for one of these for 4-5 years with no sightings. _____________________________ Egyptian Contract: Beretta 1951E.
